Design intent

Designed as working equipment.

The converter is being designed as a two-port passthrough: one locking DE-9 accepts the source instrument signal and one opposing DE-9 carries the translated output. A USB-C configuration interface defines the engineering variable, input calibration, scaling curve, output range, clamping, and fail-safe behavior. The goal is to adapt existing instruments without replacing their controls or building a one-off analog circuit for every installation.
